Ingredients:

  • (40522) Gluten Free Breaded Chicken Chunks - 1x2kg
  • (43318) Honey-Squeezy Jar - 4 tablespoons
  • (75872) Chillies-Crushed - 1 teaspoon
  • (83950) Cloves-Whole - 4 cloves
  • (20695) Mixed Spice-Ground - 1 teaspoon
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the (43318) Honey, (75872) Crushed Chillies, (83950) Cloves, and (20695) Mixed Spice with the juice of 1 orange and 1 lemon. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove the cloves before using the sauce.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Meanwhile, cook the (40522) Gluten Free Breaded Chicken Chunks according to the package instructions until golden and crispy.
  4. Coat the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, place the chunks in a large mixing bowl. Pour the sticky sauce over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Serve: Transfer the spiced chicken bites to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh herbs or citrus zest if desired, and serve immediately as a festive nibble with drinks.

Tips:

  • If you prefer a milder spice level, reduce the amount of (75872) Crushed Chillies.
  • For a deeper flavor, let the sauce sit for an hour before reheating and coating the chicken.
